🌟 1st May – Labour Day 🌟 "Respect is not a favour — it is their right."
السَّلَامُ عَلَیْکُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَکَاتُهُ
On this Labour Day, let us pause and
reflect on a truth we often overlook — behind every comfort we enjoy, every
business that grows, and every home that stands strong, is the silent strength
of the labourer.
Whether it's the builder under the
scorching sun, the janitor sweeping quietly before the world wakes up, or the
guard standing at the gate while we sleep — each one is a pillar of our ease.
Their hands are rough, but their hearts are sincere. Their clothes may be
simple, but their loyalty and hard work are priceless.
🔸 Islam honours the dignity of labour.
Our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“Give the worker his wages before
his sweat dries.”
— (Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith 2443)
This is not just a command — it is a
reflection of deep respect, justice, and human dignity. Islam teaches us
that no job is small and no worker is inferior. In fact, the
Prophet ﷺ himself mended his own clothes, helped in household chores, and
participated in building the mosque with his companions. That is our standard
of honour.
🤝 As employers,
businessmen, and privileged individuals, let us not just "use"
labour but honour it. Treat them with kindness, offer them fair wages,
and ensure they work in safe, respectful conditions. Teach your children to
greet the driver, thank the gardener, and never look down upon anyone who earns
with honesty.
✨ Remember: The luxury you enjoy today is built upon
someone else's sweat and sacrifice. Respect is not a favour — it is their
right.
Let this day not just be a holiday,
but a reminder to be humble, just, and grateful.
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنَا مِنَ
الشَّاكِرِينَ وَالْمُنْصِفِينَ
O Allah, make us among the grateful and the fair.
